About this tracker

Every home run hit across Major League Baseball today, pulled live from the official MLB feed. We parse the play-by-play and attach the Statcast hit data, exit velocity, launch angle, distance, and trajectory, to every home run as it’s logged. The page refreshes every 30 seconds while open, so keep it up on a second screen on a big slate.

Columns explained

  • Distance, Total projected distance in feet, Statcast’s flight-path calc. 400+ ft is a true no-doubter.
  • Exit velocity, How fast the ball left the bat. 95+ mph separates real power from sneak-outs. 110+ is elite.
  • Launch angle, Vertical angle off the bat. 25–35° is the home-run sweet spot.

MLB Home Run Prop Betting

The HR tracker is a research tool, turning live HR data into +EV home run prop bets takes a model. Read the full MLB Home Run Prop Betting Guide for the framework: how Statcast barrel rate + pitcher HR/9 + park factor + handedness combine to produce a true HR probability, and which payout-to-probability ratios (3x at 22% true vs 8x at 14% true) actually generate edge.

Want +EV home run props?

Turtle’s HR model runs every day on ISO power × barrel% × pitcher HR/9 × park factor × platoon edge. Every HR prediction is graded in the open, wins and losses, on our performance page, including the honest truth that long-odds HR props are hard and the model isn’t beating the price yet. See today’s HR picks. Also see the MLB Player Props lander for live +EV picks across all stat types.

Frequently asked questions

Where does this MLB home run data come from?

Directly from the MLB Stats API (statsapi.mlb.com), the same feed used by mlb.com Gameday and Baseball Savant. Statcast metrics (distance, exit velocity, launch angle) appear within seconds of the swing being measured.

How often does the home run tracker refresh?

The browser refreshes the live feed every 30 seconds. The server caches the upstream MLB call for 20 seconds, so multiple visitors do not hammer the source. Expect a typical end-to-end delay of 30–60 seconds from contact to your screen.

Are these home run leaders for the season?

The leaderboard is YTD HR count for the current MLB season, sourced from production game logs. It updates daily after games finalize.

Can I use this for HR prop betting?

Yes. Knowing who has hit recently, who is squared up (high exit velo even on outs), and matchup history is the core of HR prop modeling. For modeled HR-prop probabilities and tier picks (Elite / Strong / Standard), see the Turtle +EV picks platform.

Does this work on mobile?

Yes, the page is fully responsive and optimized for mobile. No app, no signup, no email required.

What is a "barrel"?

A barrel is a Statcast classification for a batted ball with the optimal combination of exit velocity (≥ 98 mph) and launch angle (~26°–30°). Barrels become hits about 50% of the time and home runs about 25% of the time. The HR tracker shows exit velo + launch angle so you can see which HRs were truly squared up.
